A Chandelier Light Guide

A chandelier light is a beautiful addition to any room in your house. As they have become more popular, the number of chandelier light fixtures that are available in home furnishing and improvement stores has grown, bringing them within reach even for those with a small budget. If you are looking for the perfect finishing touch to a dining room, living room or bedroom, consider installing a chandelier.

With so many styles to choose from, there is no need to adjust the décor in a room to accommodate a chandelier. Of course, the most traditional style remains the crystal chandelier light. While these are the perfect way to add a formal note to a living or dining room, many homeowners find them too precious for their home. For something that is a bit more down to earth, there are a number of home accessory designers who make chandelier lighting that reflects a more modern sensibility. Chandeliers with colored synthetic glass or crystal can cast a warm glow through any room, and those with fabric edges will look nice in any child’s bedroom or bathroom.

Even if you opt for one of the more elaborate 6 light chandelier models, there is no need to spend a fortune on electricity each time you turn it on. The Energy Star label, which has become a must-see label when shopping for home appliances, can also be found on a chandelier lighting fixture. When you see this designation, you can be assured that you are buying an energy efficient piece that will not drastically alter your monthly electric bill. To bring this savings to the existing chandeliers and other fixtures in your home, replace chandelier light bulbs with green alternatives, that will last longer and burn more efficiently.

Traditionally, chandeliers were confined to large estate homes, but there is really no reason that this must be the case. If you have a small home or apartment, a 3 light chandelier can be a great addition to even the smallest room or entry way. For less than $50, one can find chandeliers that look like the most elaborate decorations at Versailles but on a smaller scale and made with faux crystal. To add a chandelier to a room with low ceilings, always remember to allow room for not only the chandelier, but the line from which it will hang as well. This will ensure that you and your guests can still comfortably navigate through your space.
