With metal or plastic rings sewn into the top of the curtain fabric, eyelet curtains are both distinctive looking and one of the easiest types of curtains to install. After a supporting rod has been bolted firmly to the wall, the eyelet curtain can quickly be attached. Unlike other types of curtains, eyelets are easy to wash and replace. They should be chosen on the basis of their style, their durability, and their efficiency. If you have an idea of what your looking for, click to buy eyelet curtains from Amazon.
Style
Durability
Although thicker fabric tends to be more durable, the quality of craftsmanship around the eyelets should be determining factor. Poorly sewn or installed curtains with eyelets will tear more quickly and require maintenance than properly sewn eyelets. When purchasing the curtains, gently pull around the eyelet and see how firmly the curtain is attached. If the material pulls away easily, the craftsmanship is poor.
Make sure the eyelet ring is at least an 1/8” thick. Eyelets much thinner than that will not have the strength to properly hold up the curtains, especially during the summertime when the window opens to allow breezes in.
Energy Efficiency
Buy eyelets that are not much larger than the rod they will be installed on. Overly large eyelets will lead to inefficient coverage of the window, as the curtain will have too much flexibility in its movements.
Make sure there are not too many eyelets so that the curtain can hang comfortably on the rod. Too many eyelets will cause the curtain to bunch, allowing heat to escape when the curtain is drawn.
